Marketing Finland’s Sustainable Marketing and Communications Certificate is a comprehensive training program tailored for professionals in marketing, communications, sales, and executive leadership roles. Participants gain actionable insights and practical tools to embed sustainability into their work, enabling them to become influential advocates for responsibility within their organizations.
Companies play an essential role in driving sustainability, and this program empowers participants to lead impactful initiatives, build sustainable brands, and foster customer loyalty. Since its launch in 2022, the program has certified approximately 70 sustainability specialists and continues to evolve, integrating the latest developments and perspectives in responsible marketing and communications.
The program is organized in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person or virtually. Training is conducted over five thematic days and is supported by an online learning platform featuring materials and assignments. The curriculum combines expert-led lectures, case studies, group discussions, and hands-on workshops, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of sustainability in marketing and communications.
The program addresses the critical aspects of sustainability and responsibility in marketing and communication, with a focus on the following themes:
- Responsible Communication: Fundamentals of ethical corporate communication, including managing cybersecurity risks, crisis preparedness, and ensuring effective internal communication. Emphasis on building media visibility for sustainability actions and measuring communication impact.
- Sustainability in Business: Integration of sustainability into corporate strategy through compliance with environmental regulations, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of sustainability programs. Topics also include responsible employer branding and the financial and reputational benefits of sustainable practices.
- Ethical Marketing: Principles of inclusion, diversity, and un-stereotypical branding. Discussions cover carbon neutrality, emissions reduction, and ethical messaging, with insights from real-world examples and cases.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Strategies for fostering value-based partnerships and ethical influencer marketing. Exploration of digital tools to combat misinformation and ensure transparency, while addressing the transition from voluntary sustainability efforts to regulatory compliance.
- Practical Application: Interactive workshops and hands-on exercises to apply key concepts, develop responsible marketing strategies, and overcome common challenges in sustainable branding.
